Hi, I'm Alistair Macdonald and I work as an Actionscript Programmer in Edinburgh, UK. I have been working with Flash and Actionscript professionally since 1999.

For the last eight years I have been specialising in programming games and interactive marketing tools but I have a much wider experience covering websites, e-learning and kiosks and installations for retail and heritage sites.

Here are a selection of the games that I have programmed over the last few years. In total, the games I have made have had over 300,000,000 unique plays. You can click on the images to play the games.

Robot Unicorn Attack: Evolution

This is the much anticipated sequel to the campest game on the internet! Built with the social gaming wizards at Mediatonic, it keeps the unicorns, fairies, rainbows and Erasure soundtrack from the original and adds a heap of daily challenges, more cute robot animals, microtransactions and social elements.

Riverside Museum Glasgow

I built a series of multiplayer games and interactives for the new Riverside Transport Museum in Glasgow. The museum is housed in a stunning Zaha Hadid designed building and opened to rave reviews!

World's Manliest Rituals

I programmed this one-button platform puzzler for US games studio HitPoint. With 75 levels, 15 minigames and a level editor thrown in for good measure it's a huge game!

Ben 10 Vilgax Takedown

I programmed this fast paced platform puzzle game to promote Cartoon Network's Ben 10 series with Kerb who did all the graphics and animations.

The Krypton Factor

Here's a set of mental agility games that I programmed for Glasgow heroes Chunk. They are based on the rounds from "TV's toughest quiz" the Krypton Factor.

Uncharted 2

This was my last project at Kerb. I created a viral Flash game for Sony Playstation to promote the European release of "Uncharted 2" for the PS3.

Infamous

Another viral game for Sony Playstation to promote the European release of Infamous. We took elements from the PS3 game and created a 2D version for people to play.

Pop Out

I created this simple and addictive arcade-style match three game for Namco.

Gran Turismo Skills

A set of eight promotional minigames designed to appeal to Gran Turismo players and promote the release of Gran Turismo on the PSP.

Patapon 2 - The Art of War

Program the PSP hit Patapon in Flash? No problem! This game tied in with a campaign for Sony Playstation, allowing users to create desktop wallpapers from Patapon assets.

Loco Roco 2

My first game for Sony Playstation at Kerb. I reverse-engineered the PSP game LocoRoco in Flash with full-on blobby physics!

Fonejacker Application

More work from my time at Kerb. This is an online application for E4 where users can upload and edit an image of themselves and star in a Fonejacker sketch.

No Signal - Rural Rampage

A viral game for FX Channel to promote the show "No Signal". I programmed a top-down sandbox game where you could take over cars and solve crimes. Grand Theft What?!?

Stack Da Police

Mixing together 2D physics and video, I programmed this slapstick promotional viral for E4 to promote their revamped website.

Student Park

A take on the classic game "Lemmings" but instead you have to help a bunch of students get to the party. This game has had nearly 12 million unique plays!

Killawatt

Part of a suite of games to promote Samsung mobile phones this game features Samsung's Sammy mascot and some 2D physics in a sound system stacking challenge.

Disney's Aladdin Uno

Another Kerb project; It's a simple card game for Disney Japan featuring the characters from their Aladdin film and lots of programmed interactive card animations.

Pup Idol

More Samsung Sammy action with a skill game that uses a "Line Rider" style mechanic with some addictive colour matching.

Mystic Foxy Video Viral

Kerb came up with this interactive video viral which allowed users to prank their friends whilst promoting Foxy Bingo. I coded this - check out the pretty dynamic smoking text!

Springwatch "What's That Noise?"

A cute game for pre-school children that Kerb created for CBeebies as part of their Springwatch television shows.

Springwatch and Colour

Another CBeebies application which lets the user colour in an animated scene and then print it out as a cartoon poster.

CBBC's Hider In The House

Kerb were asked to make a game for the CBBC show "Hider In The House". I coded a game based on the TV show concept and added a few minigames as well!

Tabletop Cricket

I programmed this viral game to promote Cantor Spreadfair. It's based on the venerable Subbuteo Cricket game and so far has had over 12 million unique plays!

Wrong Pong

This is my first ever Flash game, made way back in 2002. It's based on Pong but with the twist that the computer cheats mercilessly in an increasingly bizarre number of ways.

Selfridges Hall Of Mirrors

This interactive was installed in the front windows of all the Selfridges shops using a live video feed to allow passers-by to play with images of themselves shown in the windows.

Evian "Live Young" Kiosk

An in-store promotional and educational kiosk for Evian, giving users personalised advice about how to "Live Young".

Lightning Seeds Animations

I created a series of animations which were projected behind the band during their European tour.
